A NOTE ON ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
As a nature lover through and through, I believe it’s my duty to be a good steward to this magical earth that I’m so fortunate to call home. I recognize that the act of making new things is inherently draining on natural resources, but I’m doing everything I can to minimize the impact while still bringing creativity into the world.
For transparency, here is a list of some of the things I’m doing:
Making products in small batches or made to order to prevent waste & unused product sitting around.
Saving and repurposing scraps.
Using 100% organic cotton for bandanas. Organic cotton means the crops are free of all chemicals commonly found in pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers which is better for the earth and people.
Using 100% cotton rag paper for prints, which is much less resource intensive than paper made from wood pulp. In fact, it is made using a byproduct of the textile making process which would otherwise go to waste.
The paper used for greeting cards and envelopes is made using renewable Green-e certified energy, is FSC certified and uses 100% post consumer waste.
Hang tags are printed on paper infused with wildflower seeds, so rather than being trash, they can become flowers instead.
Using minimal packaging to reduce waste. When packaging is necessary I use recycled, up-cycled, and carbon neutral materials whenever possible.
I am currently in the process of switching my website shipping to compostable mailers made of carbon neutral materials like natural limestone waste and produced with solar power.
